Good Afternoon, East Burke Middle Families. This is Tosha Haskins. I am excited to welcome students back to school for our first day starting Monday, Aug. 24.

I have a couple friendly reminders, we will be using ClassDojo for our parent communication school wide. Please make sure you download the app and we will get you connected. We will continue to share information on our East Burke Middle Facebook page as well. We have also posted a link to our new Facebook page that you will want to follow as the current page will be archived on August 31, 2026.

Arrival and Dismissal-All students need to be in their classrooms by 7:50 each morning. The tardy bell will ring at 7:55. Buses are dismissed at 2:50 in the afternoon and car riders are dismissed shortly after at 2:53. All students should be picked up from car riders by 3:30.

Buses- Pick up and drop off times the first week of school are rough estimates. Please be patient with our bus drivers and with our front office staff. There will be students that will be added to routes and this will affect pick up and drop off times through out the week. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Cell Phone Policy-As we prepare for the first day of school Monday, we want to remind everyone of the cell phone policy. Cell phones are not allowed during the school day in middle or elementary schools and should be turned off and kept in backpacks.

Athletics-Volleyball and Soccer tryouts will be held this week. Parents should pick students up at 5:00 each afternoon. Only Coaching staff and tryout participants are allowed to attend tryouts and practices.

Volleyball Tuesday and Wednesday 3-5pm

Boys soccer Tuesday and Wednesday 3-5pm

Girls Soccer Thursday and Friday 3-5pm

Students must have an up to date sports physical on file with the school. They must also be academically eligible. Please reach out to Coach McGuire if you have questions about physicals or eligibility.

I look forward to seeing students and families tomorrow morning. Please reach out this week if there is anything we can help you with.

Thank you and have a great weekend!
